Position Overview:

We are seeking a creative and skilled Video Director/writer to develop content and brand advertising for our social media channels. This role is integral in developing engaging videos and series related to new and existing products, sleep health, and how-to guides. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in video direction and scriptwriting, specifically for marketing and social content, with an emphasis on health and lifestyle themes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct high-quality social media videos that align with our brand's vision and objectives.
  • Write compelling and informative scripts for social videos and series focused on new and current products, health and sleep tips, and how-to guides.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop content strategies and ensure consistent messaging across all platforms.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and integrate best practices into video content.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and quality standards are maintained.
  • Developing scripts, shot lists and in some cases storyboards for assigned projects.
  • Work on-site at our LA studio at least three days a week, with the flexibility to work remotely on other days.
  • Brainstorming ideas with our marketing writers and creative directors
  • Working closely with our in-house Director of photography and Director of production in planning all phases of production

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Video Director and Scriptwriter, with a portfolio that includes brand advertising and health and lifestyle content, ideally for luxury brands.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of product marketing and content videos you have directed and written for social and TV.
  • Excellent storytelling skills, with the ability to convey complex information in an engaging and easy-to-understand manner.
  • Demonstrated experience in directing talent and collaborating with crews of varying sizes, from small teams to larger groups.
  • Proficiency with various video editing software and tools.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and take direction effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in creating and strategizing video content for social media.
  • Knowledge of current trends in health, wellness, and lifestyle content.
  • Understanding of SEO principles as they apply to video content.
  • Residency in the Los Angeles area with the ability to work from our studio at least three days a week.
  • Experience directing commercials for TV is a bonus
  • Experience directing videos shot on a Sony FX3 and an iPhone is a bonus
