Hybrid Work Environment:
As this role embraces a hybrid model, we anticipate your presence at our Whitestone, Queens office every Tuesday.  There will also be opportunity to make visits to our stores, as needed.

What you will do:

  • Coordinate, reconcile, and process payroll through ADP.
  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
  • Calculate and adjust wages as needed.
  • Manage employee changes, including processing new hires in HRIS Systems, terminations, garnishments, tax deductions, and more.
  • Process workers' compensation and unemployment wage requests promptly.
  • Submit data for leave and disability coverage processing and payment.
  • Prepare payroll reports as required.
  • Enforce federal, state, and local payroll compliance, advising management on actions needed.
  • Update and maintain State and Local Withholding Tax Rates
  • Administer our 401(k) program and jurisdictional enrollments.
  • Respond promptly to Payroll, HR, and Benefits inquiries.
  • Process the HR team’s incoming mail and notices
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold payroll and HR integrity.
  • Support new employee onboarding, serving as a key contact for payroll and HR questions.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Note: This is a remote role with periodic travel to our NY offices.

What you will need:

  • Experience processing multi-state payroll (California experience a plus).
  • At least 1 year of experience with ADP Payroll.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and high discretion.
  • Strong organizational skills, capable of working under pressure.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Possessing a strong customer service orientation.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Familiarity with HR and Benefits Administration (or a strong willingness to learn).
  • High School Diploma required; college degree or equivalent experience preferred.
