 Saatva, the internet’s Smarter Luxury Sleep company, has an immediate opening for an Assistant Public Relations Manager to join our growing Content and Communications team. You will report to the Public Relations Director and support events and media opportunities related to the brand and the ongoing expansion of Saatva’s retail Viewing Room network. 

As the Assistant Public Relations Manager  you will assist with ideation and reporting for Saatva’s media campaigns, as well as work with Saatva leadership to coordinate external thought leadership and speaking opportunities. This role works closely with other functions across the marketing department, including Content Marketing, Social Media, Affiliate Marketing, Digital Marketing, Creative, and Analytics.

The ideal candidate for this role has experience working for a PR agency or DTC or luxury brand and has excellent oral and written communications skills, great organizational ability, and the temperament to navigate the demanding world of media relations with equanimity and a positive attitude.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Vet, coordinate, and track all PR requests from initial outreach to final coverage
  • Lead media outreach initiatives, including general pitching, seasonal campaigns, and PR gifting
  • Assist with PR campaigns for product launches, press previews, and store opening events 
  • Facilitate media interviews and speaking engagements for Saatva leadership and members of the executive team
  • Help build and maintain editor databases and product asset libraries
  • Manage PR samples budget and internal and external product requests
  • Manage monthly internal PR Newsletter
  • Coordinate with other marketing channels (internal communications, social media, content marketing, email marketing) to promote media placements.  
  • Assist with regional and special events 
  • Support the PR Director with general administrative tasks, reporting, and logistics
 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3+ years experience coordinating events in an agency setting or in-house for a brand or marketing organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Project management skills preferred
  • Experience with virtual event tools such as Splash and Zoom
  • Experience with PR tools such as Asana, Cision, Muck Rack, Quoted and HARO is a plus!
  • Proficiency in G-Suite and/or Microsoft Word Software
  • Experience with e-commerce or luxury brands preferred
  • New York, Austin or LA locations preferred (some U.S. travel may be required).
